University of Oxford Botanic Garden

The Oxford Botanical gardens are the oldest gardens in Britain and the third oldest scientific gardens in the world. Founded in 1621 to grow plants for medicinal research it now hosts over 8000 different species of plant over 4.5 acres.

The gardens comprise three sections, The walled garden, the Glasshouses and the area between the Walled Garden and the River Cherwell.
